Nick Chodorow has been in the technology field for 15 years. During this time his career has taken him into many business sectors where he’s established a very successful leadership and management track record. He has worked in a variety of industries including high tech distribution, financial services, and transportation. In each of these industries he has supported the business operations of companies with high transaction rates and stringent “up time” requirements. Since joining the Belt Railway Company of Chicago in 2013 as their Senior Director of Information Systems Nick has been tasked with providing the railroad with strategic vision and leadership for their IT and business process initiatives. This has involved leveraging virtualization technologies to improve the availability and performance of the BRC’s production environments, the implementation of a process management philosophy to transform the performance and transparency of the IT organization, initiating and driving the modernization of the BRC’s internal applications, and taking the leadership role in the railroad’s efforts to become compliant with governmental regulations requiring implementation of Positive Train Control. Nick Chodorow’s formal training is in Economics and IT Management. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and Master’s degree from Northwestern University. Nick is currently a member of the AAR’s PTC Interoperability Committee, AAR’s GIS Committee, ASLRRA PTC Working Group, ASLRRA Tech Committee, and sits on the Advisory Board’s for OnX and Rockwell Collins’ FRA PTC Grant Project.
